Director, Procurement edrpc - ins850
Description:
The incumbent directs the procurement function throughout the CHA to ensure efficient and cost effective service to requesting parties within HUD guidelines; provides bidding opportunities to all M/WBE sources in order to increase their participation in CHA activities where possible. Other responsibilities of the Director of Procurement and Contracts are listed below:
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field and ten (10) years of progressive purchasing experience or the equivalent combination of education and related work experience. A comprehensive ability to understand complex bidding and procurement specifications, as well as a good working knowledge of HUD procurement regulations is required. Additionally, this position requires excellent supervisory skills to oversee the day to day operations of the department. Strong proofreading ability is necessary to review proposal and bid documents, and purchase orders. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills to represent the department at various functions, and resolve problems with vendors. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency. Salary information will be made available during the interview process. |
