Description:

The incumbent directs, manages, plans, leads and provides the overall strategic vision for a broad range of information services and all aspects of information technology needed to support the Authority and its stakeholders. Specific responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develops the strategic information technology plan for the Authority, providing direction in the overall management of the Authority’s information technology resources, including budgets, standards and projects.
  • Initiates contracts for the purchase, rent, lease, license or other acquisition from outside sources of computer systems, communication systems and office systems, hardware, software, or services to address the needs of the Authority and end users in accordance with establish procurement policies and procedures.
  • Monitors the security of data processed to ensure the integrity and reliability of computerized information systems.
  • Provides system support for the various departments of the Authority and end users relative to their particular system issues and providing them with resolutions.
  • Attends meetings with internal and external partners to plan and implement ITS interfacing efforts with efficiency and cooperation.
  • Authorizes the procurement of information systems hardware and software to provide adequate technical systems capabilities throughout the organization.
  • Serves as a special task force member to ensure proper information management support to task force activities.
  • Directs, oversees, manages, supervises, trains, motivates and evaluates the performance of staff to ensure development and enhancement of skills necessary to accomplish their duties.
  • Evaluate new technology and industry tools.

Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field as well as ten (10) years plus of related experience. This position requires a broad thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, processes, information and technology; comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of process innovation and re-engineering/design to provide the Authority and end users with timely and convenient access to information and services through the use of technology; effective management, analytical, and communication skills also required. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated high level capacity in managing information and communications technology services and applications in a complex environment; proven IT operational and strategic management skills; the ability to manage multiple high profile issues simultaneously, an ability to identify and assess emerging issues.
