CHICAGO – CHA is partnering with the national non-profit Operation Warm for the ninth consecutive year to give away 10,000 new winter coats to children living in Public Housing and participants of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program.

Distribution will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, at the UIC Forum to families that pre-registered to receive coats. Attendees can also participate in a resource fair with nearly 40 organizations offering services and giveaways.

Walgreens will provide flu shots; First Book will give away 20,000 new books; and the League of Women Voters will register new voters. The resource fair will include the Jane Addams Resource Corp., Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges and more.

In addition, there will be sponsor giveaways from Wells Fargo, Blue Cross Blue Shield, ComEd and Comcast.
