Resident Leadership Public housing residents are represented by a strong leadership headed by the development’s Local Advisory Council (LAC). This council is synonymous with a tenant association and is headed by an LAC president who is part of the Central Advisory Council, the governing body of the LAC.
History As part of the Lathrop site, Lathrop Apartments was the first CHA building designated strictly for elderly residents. To give some variety to the development, some buildings were constructed using brown brick while others were built using red brick. In all cases, arches connect the buildings, while limestone cornices and trim frame the doorways.Existing Conditions Lathrop Homes consists of three-and four-story apartment buildings and two-story row houses. This residential complex comprises 925 units on 35 acres. This complex currently contains 381 occupied units and a population of 743 residents.Plan for Transformation: To Be Determined A working group, consisting of resident leaders, CHA Staff, other city officials and community organizations, was recently formed to assess the most effective strategy for revitalizing the Lathrop and surrounding community.Contact Property Management Office or Service Connector for Lathrop Homes |
