Lowden Homes is located at 95th Street just west of the Dan Ryan expressway on Chicago’s south side.


Resident Leadership

Public housing residents are represented by a strong leadership headed by the development’s Local Advisory Council (LAC). This council is synonymous with a tenant association and is headed by an LAC president who is part of the Central Advisory Council, the governing body of the LAC.

History

Lowden Homes was constructed in 1953. A total of 128 units are contained within this two-story rowhouse-style development.


Existing Conditions

There are approximately 255 residents occupying 85 units within the Lowden Homes development.


Plan for Transformation: Mixed-Income Redevelopment

A comprehensive rehabilitation at Lowden is currently in progress.
