CHICAGO (June 25, 2018) – The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) announced today that registration is now open for the annual Owner Symposium on Saturday, October 6, 2018.

Hosted by CHA’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, the event is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Upper Wacker Dr., Chicago. Close to 1,000 real estate professionals representing approximately 10,000 rental units throughout Chicago’s 77 community areas, as well as dozens of vendors and CHA partners, are expected to attend.

Recognized experts from the housing industry will be on hand to lead the packed agenda of seminars, panel discussions and interactive workshops. Attendees can expect some old favorite topics, including inspections, fair housing and rent determination, as well as new offerings in property and business management.

For nearly a decade, the Owner Symposium has been the premier event for Chicago property owners, managers and real estate investors. And, each year, CHA adds something new to the agenda that enhances the experience, making it even better than the year before.

“Providing greater housing choice and opportunity is a cornerstone of our mission and with the help of strong partners like our HCV property owners, we’ve had success,” said Eugene E. Jones, Jr., CHA’s Chief Executive Officer. “We’re excited to once again host the Owner Symposium to help property owners grow their business, improve their operations and ultimately provide better housing choices that support the long-term success of our participant families.”

About the Chicago Housing Authority Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program helps low-income households choose and pay for quality housing in the private market. With funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the HCV Program pays a portion of a family’s rent each month to give them access to the full range of housing available in Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods. Participants can rent a single-family home, an apartment or a condominium. The HCV Program helps families realize their potential and cultivate their personal, economic and social skills to support the transition from subsidized to non-subsidized housing.
