Altgeld Gardens and Phillip Murray Homes is on the border of Chicago and Riverdale, bounded by 130th and 133rd Streets and St. Lawrence and Doty Avenues. Expansive green space and open common areas are just two of the amenities featured in this development, which was built in 1945 for Black war-industry workers during the Second World War. More than six decades later, the development is being completely renovated with new bathrooms, updated kitchens, modern lighting fixtures and heating/cooling systems.
Eligibility
Only residents who were living in CHA developments as of October 1, 1999, and have remained lease-compliant or individuals on the current waitlist are eligible to live at this property. CHA relocatees should contact their relocation manager for more information.
