Direct Deposit Registration
The CHA electronically deposits a Property Owner’s HAP into their bank accounts. This service is free to enroll in and ensures timely, automatic deposits of your HAP and reduces the risk of lost or stolen checks. Direct deposit also helps streamline HCV program processes and reduce costs. Property Owners benefit with increased security, convenience and assurance of on-time payments.Note: All Property Owners are required to sign up for direct deposit. Property Owners who wish to receive a HAP check remittance will need an email address. Enrollment options are outlined below.

There are Two Documents Required to Enroll via Fax or Mail:
- Completed Direct Deposit Authorization Form (this form is also available at any of the HCVP offices)
- A Voided Check (if using a checking account) OR a Deposit Slip (if using a savings account)
Online enrollment authorizes the Chicago Housing Authority to electronically deposit your HAP check into your account until you notify us in writing of any changes. The payee certifies compliance with the Housing Assistance Payment Contract by accepting direct deposit. The payee also certifies that the unit(s) assisted under the Housing Assistance Payment Contract is in full compliance with the contract terms.
