Notice of Right to Return to Public Housing

For Residents who Lived in CHA Housing on Oct. 1, 1999

CHA is working with Globetrotters International, Inc., to update its list of leaseholders who lived in CHA housing on October 1, 1999 (10/1/99) and are covered by the Relocation Rights Contract (RRC).  Under the RRC, former CHA residents who lived in public housing on 10/1/99 and followed the rules of their lease have a right to permanent housing and may be eligible to move back to a new or rehabilitated public housing unit.  Permanent housing options also include a Housing Choice Voucher if your family is already using a temporary Housing Choice Voucher.

To find out if your information needs to be updated, follow these steps:

  1. Look for your name on the Public Notice List.
  2. If your name is listed, complete the inquiry form either online or download and print the form below and send a completed version to Globetrotters.
  3. When they receive your notice, Globetrotters will contact you with further information.

Permanent housing options depend on several factors including, but not limited to: housing preferences, housing status pursuant to the Relocation Rights Contract, appropriate bedroom size, lease compliance status, and unit availability.

The right to return to public housing under this program applies only to former CHA residents who lived in Public Housing on 10/1/99.

It is necessary for these residents to complete the form immediately to receive further information regarding their Right to Return to public housing.  If you see a friend's or relative's name on the list, please alert them of this important opportunity.
