DESCRIPTION
The Chicago Housing Authority, the third largest public housing agency, is seeking a highly successful Director to lead the agency by championing its Organizational Learning initiative. He/she will assess, develop, design, and deploy a strategic learning and leadership development strategy for the Agency. The goal for this department is to increase employee engagement, retain key staff, as well as develop future leaders. The successful candidate will work with key business leaders under the leadership of the Executive Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness to create an annual learning strategy that align with the Agency Strategic Plan, people development goals, and Agency policies. This important leader will oversee the delivery of a cadre of educational and training opportunities that will support the development of a competent workforce and supervise assigned staff.
REQUIREMENTS
- A Masters degree in a related field, with a PhD preferred
- 7+ years recent experience as director of an organizational learning department. This experience must have occurred within the last five years.
- Experience leading large scale projects and delivery on expected results
- Experience in e-learning, adult learning theory, instructional design, training content development, action learning, classroom training, and coaching
- Success in leading and mentoring a team
- Success in achieving results when working across organizational boundaries

- Knowledge of DISC behavioral styles, situational leadership, certification in 360 feedback (preferred), and a variety of learning and coaching programs
- Ability to source and manage a diverse group of third-party providers
- Skilled in developing and managing a departmental budget
- Knowledge of and skills in common business software such as word processing, multi-media presentations, excel, database creation and development, and desk top publishing applications.
- Experience sourcing and implementing learning management software on an agency-wide basis.
