Victim Assistance

CHA Victim Assistance staff assists residents living in public housing who are victims of violent crimes occurring on CHA property, or individuals who are impacted by a traumatic event.

The Victim Assistance department provides the following services:

  • Court Advocacy and Criminal Justice Assistance
  • Domestic Violence Assistance
  • Landlord Advocacy
  • School Intervention
  • Advising victims of their rights under the Victim’s Crime Bill of Rights
  • Employer Intervention
  • Social Service Referrals
  • Crisis Response/Intervention
  • Assistance with filing for Victims Compensation
  • Prevention/Educational Workshops to the Community
  • Technical Assistance
  • Relocation services for those who qualify

Public housing leaseholders who seek Victim Assistance services must have a current police report (within 30 days) documenting a violent crime or arson report.
