Victim Assistance
CHA Victim Assistance staff assists residents living in public housing who are victims of violent crimes occurring on CHA property or individuals who are impacted by a traumatic event.The Victim Assistance department provides the following services:
- Court Advocacy and Criminal Justice Assistance
- Domestic Violence Assistance
- Landlord Advocacy
- School Intervention
- Advising victims of their rights under the Victim’s Crime Bill of Rights
- Employer Intervention
- Social Service Referrals
- Crisis Response/Intervention
- Assistance with filing for Victims Compensation
- Prevention/Educational Workshops to the Community
- Relocation services for those who qualify
Public housing leaseholders who seek Victim Assistance services must have a current police report (within 30 days) documenting a violent crime or arson report.
