Jennifer Mendez struggled to provide a good home for her two daughters.

Her previous apartment was “falling apart and unsafe” for her two small children. The heat was inadequate with the wind coming in through the windows. She had difficulty making ends meet.

With a little help, Jennifer has found an affordable apartment that “makes me want to come home.” She has moved into a brand new apartment in Pilsen that was rehabbed as part of the CHA’s Plan for Transformation. Jennifer describes her new home as “a little heaven.”
