CHICAGO (Oct. 23, 2019) - Angela Hurlock’s first Board meeting as chair of the Chicago Housing Authority will be Nov. 19. Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot nominated her for the position in September. She was confirmed by the City Council on Oct. 16.

Hurlock will also continue to serve as Executive Director of Claretian Associates, a community development corporation that for the past 30 years has provided affordable, safe and environmentally efficient housing to the residents of South Chicago.

As Executive Director of Claretian Associates, Hurlock is dedicated to building a sense of family among those who reside within the organization’s four housing developments in the South Chicago neighborhood.

“It is an honor to join Mayor Lightfoot, the CHA Board of Commissioners, and the entire City of Chicago to ensure that people have housing options that will significantly enhance their quality of life,” Hurlock said in September. “I’ve spent my life in the service of helping others secure and realize the sense of belonging that comes with a place to call their own.”
