EPA Recognizes CHA with Smart Growth Achievement Award

CHICAGO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized the Chicago Housing Authority, along with FitzGerald Associates Architects and Holsten Real Estate Development Corporation, as one of four national winners of the 2009 National Smart Growth Achievement Awards for transforming an aging, isolated public-housing development into the successfully integrated Parkside of Old Town community.

Mayor Daley, CHA Re-open Renovated Britton Budd Apartments

CHA Announces New Camera Initiative

In an effort to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents, the Chicago Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will consider a $23 million camera initiative Wednesday that would see approximately 3,000 cameras installed at all of the Authority’s senior and family developments, representing nearly 16,000 apartments.
