The CHA/S2S Scholarship is available to current CHA public housing residents or Housing Choice Voucher participants who have at least a 2.0 GPA and are high school seniors or college undergraduates.

The transition of GetInternet.gov to the new landing page occurred on the evening of May 3. AffordableConnectivity.gov will continue to exist as a resource for consumers and digital navigators and contain more detailed information about the Affordable Connectivity Program.

The Innovation in Affordable Housing Student Design and Planning Competition is an initiative from HUD’s Office of Policy Development & Research. Graduate students from the University of Illinois-Chicago designed solutions for a CHA site at 420-430 W. North. UIC, which won the $20,000 first-place prize.

CHA plans to award over 125 undergraduate scholarships of $2,000 each based on each applicant’s academic merit, community involvement, and essay content.

The ACP, which provides internet and device discounts to public housing residents and voucher holders, allows eligible CHA households to receive up to a $30 monthly discount on their internet service, and a one-time discount of $100 to purchase a computer, laptop, or tablet.

The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) Board of Commissioners Tuesday approved 50 new Project-Based Voucher (PBV) units in four Chicago neighborhoods, representing a $37 million commitment over the next 15-30 years.

Construction on both properties will be completed in 2024

The new allotment will increase the number of vouchers that are available through CHA’s Foster Youth to Independence program (FYI) from 100 to 175. The new vouchers will be effective as of June 2023.
