CHA Hosts Construction Training and Apprenticeship Expo

More than 500 people attended CHA’s 3rd Annual Construction Training and Apprenticeship Expo at the Charles A. Hayes Center. The event featured 28 vendors from construction-related industries including carpenters, electricians, ironworkers and operating engineers,
among others.
“We’re opening this up to our residents and youth population to make sure they are aware of the opportunities in the construction sector,” said Sheena Brewer, CHA’s Program Specialist for Trades & Apprenticeships. “This is an opportunity for everyone to learn about the industry, get familiar and solidify an area of expertise. I want individuals to know that getting into the construction sector is not just a job, it’s a career. They’re able to sustain a sustainable wage, excellent benefits and a skillset that will last for
a lifetime.”
