“Springboard to Success” (S2S) funds programs creating pathways to academic achievement and independence for Chicago Housing Authority youth.
Evrod Cassimy, news anchor for NBC-Chicago, singer/songwriter, Emmy nominated journalist, and philanthropist, has previously teamed with S2S and CHA. With his Christmas single “Please Come Home for Christmas,” 100% of the proceeds were donated to CHA.
With the release of his new album Mister Cassimy, he continues his partnership with the CHA’s S2S program, directing all album proceeds to help CHA youth attend college. Through this partnership, album sales will directly support educational opportunities for youth across Chicago’s public housing communities.
Mister Cassimy was released August 22 on all major digital platforms and EvrodCassimy.com. The album title honors Cassimy’s parents: Dr. Glenn Cassimy, a former CPS teacher, principal, and superintendent, and Avril Cecily Parris Cassimy, a longtime Rockford educator.
"‘Mr. Cassimy’ is what students called my father in school,” said Evrod, “I want listeners to remember every time they listen to this album that they're helping a child in the classroom take their education to the next level.”
