Updated July 7, 2021
-– Approximately 1,100 Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs) will be available starting July 1, 2021.
Note: This page will be updated with new information as it becomes available, so please check back regularly for updates.
Thank you for your interest in Chicago’s Emergency Housing Vouchers. The Chicago Continuum of Care, or CoC, is currently making decisions about how to connect people in homeless programs to vouchers. The CoC is a membership organization made up of agencies and people who work to prevent and end homelessness in Chicago. While the CoC is still in the process of deciding how to connect people to vouchers, the process will involve offering vouchers to people already part of Chicago’s homeless programs. There is no way to sign up for a waitlist for this housing resource.
If you need a place to sleep tonight, you can call the City of Chicago’s 311 service system to be connected to an emergency shelter.
If you need homeless prevention resources, please contact the City of Chicago’s 311 service system and use the term “short-term help” to be transferred to the Homeless Prevention Call Center.
