Her journey back to school wasn’t easy. After putting her education on hold, she received a life-changing opportunity: the CHA Partners in Education Scholarship.

Development Update: CHA Celebrates Groundbreaking For 520 Hobbie @Parkside

June 6, 2025

CHA joined Mayor Johnson, Holsten Real Estate Development & Management Corporation, and the Cabrini Green LAC Community Development Corporation to break ground on 520 Hobbie @Parkside, a 99-unit mixed-income project in the Cabrini area. This is the final phase at Parkside and fulfills CHA’s Master Development Agreement with the Holsten team.

Down Payment Assistance

July 19, 2024

The Down Payment Assistance Program (DPA) helps families with upfront costs of buying a home. CHA residents are eligible for a $20,000 grant. However, CHA residents who receive a grant will be transitioned off of their subsidy. If you are not a CHA resident, but are an Illinois resident or moving to Chicago, you are eligible for a $10,000 grant. (Download a summary flier.)

The WORC Business Academy is a program that helps CHA residents start or grow their own business. The academy offers a 12-week program where participants learn important skills like how to plan a business, understand finances, and market their products.
