CHICAGO (April 15, 2025): The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has been awarded a 2024 Exemplary Knighton Award for best performance audit among local government audit organizations of similar size across the U.S. and Canada.

In honor of Financial Literacy Month, CHA is highlighting the many ways it helps residents build brighter economic futures. Through programs like LevelUp, the Workforce Opportunity Resource Center (WORC), Summer Youth Employment, and HOME (Home Ownership Made Easy), thousands of residents are achieving new milestones each year. In 2024 alone:

CHA is now accepting proposals from qualified development teams to reimagine a key 7-acre site at Clybourn and Larrabee. This project will contribute to ongoing revitalization efforts in the Cabrini-Green area, where over 3,500 homes have already been restored.
