Participant Services

  • Intake-HCV — New families looking to participate in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program (e.g., selected from the HCV waiting list, porting into Chicago from another Housing Authority, etc.). Learn more about the HCV Program and eligibility requirements here.
  • Intake-PBV — New Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Program participants. Learn about Public Housing in Chicago here.
  • Interims — Current HCV participants who experience a change in their family situation (household income, expenses or family composition) that may affect their voucher and occur in between a regularly scheduled Re-Examination.
  • Moves — Participant families looking to transfer to a new unit and want to request moving papers (or have already received them) and those families who have been notified that they are a required move due to specific circumstances.
  • Recertification — Determining and documenting a participant's continued eligibility, income, rent and contractual obligations with the CHA's HCV Program. 
  • Recertification-PBV — Determining and documenting a participant's continued eligibility, income, rent and contractual obligations with the CHA's PBV Program. 
  • Program Integrity — Current HCV participants who have received communications regarding an enforcement action and/or those looking to report any violations of housing laws, HUD regulations or CHA's Ethics Policy.
  • Special Programs — Participants of any of CHA's special programs, including LevelUp (formerly FSS), Choose to Own (CTO) Homeownership, Mobility Counseling and HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH), will do business at CHA's Central Office (60 E. Van Buren).
  • PPP Loans — Current HCV participants who have been identified as receiving a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan.

Reminder: The HCV Program continues to conduct most business remotely and offices operate by appointment only (with the exception of Wednesdays, effective September 1, 2023, where walk-ins are welcome). To avoid long wait times, CHA encourages all clients to schedule an appointment with the appropriate servicing office.

  2. Select one (1) Service.
    Note: Escalation services, special programs and new admissions are only available at the Central Office.
  3. Use the calendar to choose a Date, and then select a Time.
  4. Enter your details (Name, Email Address and Phone Number).
  5. Provide notes or additional information to help staff prepare for the appointment.
  6. Click on "Book" to complete.
