CHICAGO – Chicago Bulls Forward Luol Deng made the holiday season special for 400 children living in CHA housing on Sunday, December 20th, as he sponsored a Kids Holiday Party at The John G. Shedd Aquarium.
CHICAGO – Mayor Richard M. Daley and 2,000 senior citizens from around
the city helped the Chicago Housing Authority celebrate its biggest event of the
year: The 25th Annual Senior Holiday Gala at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
CHICAGO – On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Chicago Housing Authority marked the
end of rehabilitation for 700 senior apartments with upgrades for people with
disabilities – three years ahead of schedule. With the delivery of these
accessible units, CHA inches closer to the completion of all 9,300 units of
senior-designated housing committed under the Plan for Transformation.
CHICAGO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized the Chicago
Housing Authority, along with FitzGerald Associates Architects and Holsten Real
Estate Development Corporation, as one of four national winners of the 2009 National
Smart Growth Achievement Awards for transforming an aging, isolated public-housing
development into the successfully integrated Parkside of Old Town community.
