Development Update: Paseo Boricua Arts Building Opens

CHA was proud to join our partners in the Humboldt Park community earlier this week to celebrate the opening of Nancy Franco Maldonado Paseo Boricua Arts Building. This distinctive building complements Paseo Boricua’s business and cultural district, which is the heart of Chicago’s Puerto Rican community.

Historic Gautreaux Settlement Agreement Amendment Accepted by Federal Court

August 31, 2024

On August 1, U.S. District Judge Marvin Aspen approved a jointly-proposed Amendment to the 2019 Settlement Agreement between the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Impact for Equity (IFE) in the landmark 1966 Gautreaux v. Chicago Housing Authority federal lawsuit.

200 college-bound students get send-off at largest CHA Take Flight event in history

Nearly 60 schools locally and across the country were represented Tuesday at the Take Flight College Send-Off – the largest turnout in the event’s history with 200 incoming freshman being provided a fond farewell at Huntington Bank Stadium Club.

Development Update: 1237 N. California Opens

CHA joined Hispanic Housing Development Corporation and the City of Chicago Wednesday for a groundbreaking of 1237 California, a new, 40 unit, six story Humboldt Park property that will include 18 Project Based Vouchers.
