WHAT: Cabrini-Green Draft Development Zone Plan Open House

WHERE: Seward Park, 375 W. Elm St.

WHEN: 5-8 p.m., February 4, 2014 or

11 a.m.-1 p.m., February 8, 2014.

WHAT: The Chicago Housing Authority invites the public to learn more

about how it’s working with public housing residents, elected officials, and local leaders as well as the City of Chicago to revitalize the 65-acre Cabrini-Green site and build strong, vibrant communities throughout the city.

To provide a sustainable, mixed-income/mixed-use community for the redevelopment of Cabrini-Green is a vital component of CHA’s new strategic initiative, “Plan Forward: Communities that Work.”

The draft development zone plan will help guide overall development in the community including density, dedication of new streets, open space and other uses. CHA, working in conjunction with the City’s Department of Planning and Development, will release requests for proposals to solicit responses that are consistent with the draft development zone plan. CHA expects that multiple developers will be selected to engage in housing and other development over multiple phases.
