CHA supports residents’ access to health information, resources and care.  We do this through on-going partnerships with public and private health organizations as well as special initiatives such as access to flu shots in the fall. Contact your Family Works Provider to learn what resources are available for you and your family, and about future events at your building.


The Chicago Housing Authority's HCV Health and Wellness Program aims to help HCV participants and their household members focus on their overall health and well-being with personalized services such as case management, care coordination, individual and family therapy and access to community-based resources.

Get Covered Illinois

The Open Enrollment period for current 2023 health care coverage has closed.

The next Open Enrollment period begins on November 1, 2023. During this time, you can renew your current health plan or choose a new one through the Marketplace. To receive coverage beginning January 1, 2024, you must enroll by December 15, 2023. The last day to enroll is January 15, 2024.

Pharmacy Assistance

CHA is excited to share a new resource, Capsule, an online pharmacy that provides free, same-day prescription medication delivery across all of Chicago, along with the greater Cook and DuPage Counties. Capsule’s online platform enables customers to use Capsule via mobile app or website so customers can chat in real time with a pharmacist, see the cost of their medications, and schedule free, same-day delivery. To get started, call or text 312-589-7620 or visit, or download the Capsule app on your mobile phone.

Treatment Services

Public Housing residents seeking services related to substance use and addiction should contact their FamilyWorks provider. 

The Illinois Department of Human Services also supports and offers treatment services for substance use disorder through an extensive treatment provider network throughout the State of Illinois. For additional resources, visit the Illinois Department of Human Services website.

Public Health Advisories


Illinois’ Covid emergency order was lifted on May 11, 2023. While Covid restrictions are no longer in place, we know that Covid has not disappeared. Covid, like other illnesses such as strep throat and the flu, remains a danger to individual with compromised immune systems. As a result, we encourage all employees and residents to keep themselves and others safe by getting vaccinated and practicing good hygiene.

Launched in 2016, the CHA Health Partnership application is now available online.  Any health-related organization requesting to meet with residents in a common area of a CHA building must first complete a partnership application for CHA review/approval. Approved Health Partners provide free health and wellness information and resources to CHA residents.  This is a voluntary partnership agreement with no funds provided by CHA.
